NUS Enterprise Summer Programme in Entrepreneurship 2022 is a program that brings together highly qualified students interested in entrepreneurship from all over the world to learn and grow together in 2 weeks. As a technology student who is passionate about business, Satyam Mishra - an Informatics and Computer Engineering student at Vietnam National University, Hanoi - International School (VNU-IS) can't pass on this opportunity. After passing the strict application and assessment rounds of VNU and NUS, he excellently became the 1st international student, and one of the 4 scholarship recipients from Vietnam to join NUS Enterprise Summer Programme in Entrepreneurship in 2022.

Satyam felt excited as he was being selected for the scholarship: “To be honest, I didn’t expect to get selected, I just applied and gave my best effort for it.” When asked about the reason to apply for the program, he shared that “NUS is one of my most favourite universities around the globe, and I have just finished a research paper that has been published by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). So I want to learn how to commercialise the research I have done and I believe this camp has the perfect faculties and facilities to teach me that.”
Satyam believes that the secret to win this scholarship is to always work hard in whatever he does. “If you are a student, it’s your duty to study, if you are a researcher, it’s your duty to put 100% research efforts, that’s how you become elite. That’s what I did. I love computer science as a student. I give my 100% effort in studying it and grab any opportunities that appear in front of me. Just because of doing this, I have made a decent portfolio and CV which got me here where I am right now. There is still a long way to go and already on the path. So the tip is to give your 100% in what you do without having doubt in yourself.”
Satyam’s journey in Vietnam for the past 3 years has been an endeavour with many achievements
Having been a computer enthusiast since he young age, Satyam looks up to “the big tech giants”, so he aims to challenge himself in the commercial field. “As you can see around the world, Satya Nadella - CEO of Microsoft, Sundar Pichai - CEO of Google, etc, all have technical educational backgrounds and are leading the world nowadays. I also want to be like them, contribute to the world before I die and I am on that path already. Entrepreneurship is what I am gonna pursue as I finish my master’s degree, so meanwhile I am going to gain as much knowledge as I can get. And with the opportunity to NUS camp, it’s getting real now. My goal of having my startup, my company, launching its initial public offering (IPO) (*) is on the way. So, I will just say it’s all just the beginning of an amazing story.”
Currently, Satyam is fast-tracking his study at VNU-IS as he only has 27 credits left till graduation after 3 years. For him, studying at VNU-IS is very interesting, and he hopes that he can graduate with the highest score possible: “Informatics and Computer Engineering is a beautiful and habile major. The lecturers are extraodinary. So please keep blessing me for my upcoming endeavours.”
